Field Technician – Full Time
Job description
Field Support roles are key to 8K’s continued success. This department is responsible for providing technical support on the 8K mastRcam products that we integrate on fields for our customers in the national and collegiate athletics markets throughout the US. This role may also support integration of other 8K video solutions.
The primary goal of this position is to perform preventative maintenance and technical support visits to all our customers throughout the United States. This will involve mechanical tune-ups, part exchanges, and general equipment repairs/replacements. This role may also provide support to integration projects as needed. This is a travel heavy position during certain times of the year. Travel is typically during the months of March – June each year. Travel and customer service incentives are included for this position.
Job Duties:
- Demonstrate dependable and positive attitude at all times as you are the face of 8K at our customer sites.
- Proficient with hand and power tools used to complete physical installations and repairs of low voltage equipment, camera housings, pneumatic systems, and mechanical systems.
- Must be able to read and follow communication system schematics and supporting documentation.
- Troubleshooting of existing systems and diagnosing and performing any necessary repairs.
- Prepare and assemble materials.
- Inspect products for quality assurance.
- Maintain logs and reports for job materials and repairs.
- Ability and willingness to take calls and emails for after-hours support coverage, emergency onsite visits, and annual preventative maintenance trips for all customers based in the U.S.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Experience/Education:
- Minimum 3 years of related mechanical, video experience.
- Knowledge of cameras, signal flow, audio/video signal types, connector types, and terminations are preferred.
- Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot and resolve various mechanical issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven work ethic of integrity and ability to work independently.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and pass a background check.
Pay:
$58,000.00 – $72,000.00 per year plus bonus eligibility

Travel Requirements:
- Able to travel up to 50% during peak months of the year (Feb-Sept)
Experience:
- Audio/visual integration: 1 year (Required)
- Signal flow knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
- Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Required)
- Video Camera operations: 2 years (Required)
